We Buried Gary Today 😞

We brought him in as an older cat. His previous owner had prostate cancer and was in hospice care.

Gary was very shy when we brought him home. I kept him in an unused bedroom and he would wedge himself between the bed and wall - to feel more safe. I stayed with him and talked to him using his name. He knew his name well.

We got him right before my mom died and then needed her home and second home emptied and sold, a relative returned a rental house trashed that we flipped four months later and then prepped our house for sale and moved out from the suburbs. His physical presence was a great comfort to me going through these challenges.

I'm posting as a placeholder for today. I'll edit and add more later.
