New Nest Lessons

Today was a learning day for the chickens 😀

I put up a milk crate nest box in the pen and then closed up the henhouse for day.

I'll do it two more days so they are used to laying in them and then give access back to the henhouse as well.

They were really unsure about it. And fighting over it and yelling at each other to hurry up.

So I made a second box and mounted it a little higher. The small and younger birds loved it.

After the light brahmas did their thing in the lower box, the marans took a turn. Littles were super happy with the higher box.

That's the new box there. Look at all the eggs! We had 9 today!!
