Fall Garden, Finally!

If you want to feed the monarchs on their journey south, plant these!

I also want to feed humans so I made some changes to my garden beds. First, I made room for new trellis panels. Pulled out spent corn stalks and greens remains.

Then I acquired the cattle panel fencing.

Pounded in T posts and installed one set of two panels. Before on top, after on bottom. Second set of three panels in second photo..

Relocated the tomatoes, cucumbers and watermelon to the new arch trellises. Pulled the rest of the sweet corn. Transplanted rogue Swiss Chard and kale.

Refreshed the beds with composted manure and planted seeds! Peas, beans, lettuces, spinach, radishes and more comfrey. Garlic has been ordered and will be shipped out in September.

YES, you can plant the same crops NOW that you did in spring. Try it!

I did mention this back on 8/7 but didn't get my seeds going till 8/25…We do what we can, when we can ;)
