Speedy Seedlings

Macomb, start seeds as soon as possible to get the plants you want for the growing season!

Tip to get seeds growing sooner:

  • Cover your seeds loosely to help keep the soil evenly moist.

  • Open and close the cover am and pm each day to let fresh air inside.

  • Most seeds don't need light to germinate. Check your seed package.

  • As SOON as you see any green, remove the cover and put them under light.

  • The closer to the light source they are, the more compact. Elevate them and/or lower the lights.

I started calendula Sunday 4/30 and they're sprouting Tuesday 5/3!!

This even worked this year when I started carrots - using thin strips of wood!
