We are about a month away from our first killing frost time, here in zone 6ab….
Whatever the conditions, you can plan ahead for them and possibly grow and food throughout the winter!
Carrots - can be left in the ground, heavily mulched with straw, and then harvested when you'd like them.
Greens - crops you grew in the early spring and might have in your fall garden can be protected from ice and snow and cold winds by growing under frost cloth a greenhouse or even a makeshift cold frame.
