Homestead Updates 11/7/23
Here are some updates from our small homestead! How about yours?
Still have farmland around us but much is up for sale…
Molting season is in full swing, poor babies!
We homed a feral cat and she's almost domesticated. That's the blur you see…
Huge jars I ordered were delivered the other day. Going to be good for dry goods or waterglassing eggs.
Beginnings of a new garage
Cool trick I learned for ripening green pumpkins https://youtube.com/shorts/saZNzWN9IXw?si=4IdCS_kHH6EBbPX2
Started labeling the eggs for hubby
Processed the last of the frozen tomatoes to make more freezer space
Made the last of the ground cherries into jam
Canned the last tomatillos
OMG. Don't be cheap like me. Buy the metal ones. These plastic ones give way when you need to use to water most.
I was shocked to see these ingredients.
Hubby said he's OK with adding bees to the homestead.
I finally figured out that if I open the package halfway down, I could carry it in my pocket without them sliding out all the time.
Converted an unused coat closet to a canning closest. https://youtube.com/shorts/DZguVV7wlGk?si=PSVqdcKaiAnhaud6
